Super cool setting for this pretty house located in the foothills near I-77 close to the VA boarder. According to a couple sources, the house was originally a general/ company store.

I see they had slaves there. It’s something I don’t consider at all. First time I saw that addressed. When I saw the one recent photo of the one house, I thought I could be happy in that little house in that setting.

What a fairy-tale come true! Open an antique store or start milling operations again? Decisions, decisions. A gem of a listing. Someone, please buy this for the first annual Old House Dreams picnic.

Beautiful home- and the mill is a true treasure. I don’t know if I could afford the repairs needed to the dam, though. Apparently this is the second time it has blown out, leaving yet another owner with costly repairs.

As lovely as the house is, I would live in the mill.

My husband and I are the new owners of this amazing historic home. The most popular comment we get from visitors is “Paradise!” And it truly is. The area is ripe for fishermen and kayackers on the Mitchell river, and Stone mountain is a short ride away for sports enthusiasts. The foliage and wildflowers are beautiful! Definitely a great destination if you’re exploring the NC mountain area. Stop by and take some pictures if you’re passing through, as we have done some work on the grounds and it looks a bit different! Follow us on Instagram @kappsmillestate to see all the latest!
