900 Presidential Hwy, Jefferson, NH 03583

In 2018, the St. John's United Methodist Church was listed in the State of NH Register of Historic Places. It was the largest house of worship in Jefferson when it was built in 1868; members built 3 smaller chapels to accommodate the region's summer visitors. Originally painted red, this Italianate style building remains nearly unchanged on the outside. The architectural style was designed based on local needs, the availability of construction materials and relied on the local builders' design skills and tradition. The wide entry doors lead to approximated 2400 sq feet of open space with cathedral ceilings. There are hardwood floors beneath the carpet squares. A set of stairs leads to an 8' wide balcony. There are 10 amazing stained glass windows. In 1974, the walkout basement was structurally reinforced. This additional open space offers many possibilities. Adjacent to the Waumbek Golf Course, this building is in a terrific location! The property would need to be renovated to be used as a residential dwelling. Set on Route 2, it would make a great location for an antique store / gift shop or other business. Bring your imagination to this unique historic property! There is no on-site water or septic.
