A detached porte cochere is a first for me. What a cool, (though slightly odd), feature! Sure would make someone an absolutely fantastic garden pavillion if moved to an appropriate location. Along with the few other remaining “Eastlake” decorative features; it was likely added a few years after the house was built – IMO. I sure would love to have it in my expansive back garden, (If I had one 😉 ).

Looking closer at the floor plan and matching it to photos, my guess is that the original dining room was next to what they are now calling the living room on the floor plan. There is a built in that could have been an original china closet. https://www.oldhousedreams.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/35-106walnutstreet.jpg
The room was clearly divided and made smaller.

Interesting that the porte cochere doesn’t seem to be visible on the google satellite view; also, it looks like some structures to the rear of the lot that are no longer there. Perhaps this was a gazebo that was recently moved up to the house.

I’ll take a look next time I go by this way. Clinton has some interesting Victorians still extant in this neighborhood. A typical mill town, and for years had one major employer (now gone). In those days the comments from locals about Clinton was “More bars than school age children” (neighboring Lancaster is still “dry”).
