Overlooking the Midland Country Club golf course is where you'll find this Alden Dow 1936 mid-century modern home. Known on the National Registry as the MacCallum Residence, the design was a collaboration between Mr. Dow and Dr. and Mrs. MacCallum to create a comfortable environment not only for their own family but to accommodate visits from their extended family and friends. The expansive, welcoming foyer leads directly to the spacious living/dining area where you're drawn to the full wall of windows with signature colored glass accents and cypress wood framing. Tasteful upgrades over the years have allowed this home to maintain its wonderfully unique character. Additional features: 11x12 extension to the living room which offers a spot for quiet conversation; 13x11 upper level screen porch off the guest suite which features a living room, bedroom and bath plus it's own fireplace; 8x12 brick foyer; 16x35 lower level family room; maid's quarters or nanny suite and MUCH..MUCH..MORE.

very cool unique home and thank goodness the wood has been spared the white paint. Wouldn’t this one be fun to furnish and decorate!! A great find Kelly!!

Goodness the built ins! No expense was spared in the building of this home. Very nice! They considered all the little details and this house works very well for then, now and the future. Very rare in a home. Nothing really needs done but a few cosmetic things that would be easy to take care of. Scrub it up, polish the wood and move right in.

Love exterior and interior of 1227 Sugnet. In looking around the neighborhood, I came across this MCM on the same street. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/1015-W-Sugnet-Rd_Midland_MI_48640_M35759-26529#photo0 1015 Sugnet looks to have a fair amount of the original interior from 1951.

The Prairie style reminds me a bit of Ikea. Very clean lines and somewhat stark in styling. You can certainly see the attention to detail in this home.

I tried and failed to figure out which inside room went with the glass “tower”. This is a stunning home and appears in perfect condition. No matter what season, the views must always be gorgeous.

MCM is a term applied to most any home built in the mid-20th Century. Prairie is the style, low pitched to flat roofs, wide overhanging eaves, emphasizing horizontal lines, etc.

THIS. HOUSE. IS. STUNING!!!!!! The only thing I would probably do is change out the carpet, and that’s it. Not a typical 30’s modern, definitely 50’s MCM vibe but those bathrooms are every bit 30’s modern. I love this whole house, when can I move in?

I love prairie style, MCM. Wonder if there is terrazzo floors under that carpet?
