Another house full of potential and work. So much to work with here! I am totally in the wrong part of the country.

Well, it’s location, location, location. Everything I need is within a 5 mile radius but I pay for that convenience. If you don’t mind driving 45 minutes to the only grocery store or less than ideal climates, the world is your oyster.

Agreed with others that this house probably has more potential than is revealed in the listing photos. It obviously needs some work; of concern are the water stains on the ceilings in a couple of spots downstairs. The exterior says 1880 (except for the turn of the last century porch) but the interior also looks like it had a c. 1900 makeover. It was not unusual for folks to remodel the family home back then to reflect newer styles that were in vogue. A personal inspection or more photos are needed to determine the overall condition of the house. Louisiana, MO is an old riverboat town and has a fair collection of Antebellum (pre-Civil War) era homes in addition to the later Victorians.

Im loving this house! I just wish there were more pictures so I can have an understanding of how the rest of this house looks like. Apparently the brick building across the street was torn down sometime between 2016 and today. Im seriously considering buying this house, that staircase entry and wainscoting is selling me, big time!

For updated pictures, the realtor.com link provided by Kelly near the top of the page contains pictures dated June 2018. It appears there are some additional interior pictures and some different exterior pictures than provided above.

This house is approximately .4 mile from my house. Have driven past it many many times. Great town but the water bill is steep. The city hall double charges for sewage (in other words, what ever you use in water, they double it for sewage). So it can be tough in the budget. Schools are goof and people are friendly.

Looked at this house for myself- needs a large amount of work, the foundation has issues. Woodwork is amazing, nice location on historic street, town is right on the bank of the Mississippi River, lovely views! Pictures don’t show the large open attic space with lots of potential!

Just took a Google cruise down Georgia St thru downtown, hung a left on 79 (S. 3rd St), went down to where it ties in to 54 and turned rt across the river. Took a couple detours on my way down and enjoyed some beautiful bluff views and some nice little parks. This town is the cutest damn place I’ve seen in a long time.
The house is a bit of an enigma since I can’t see much of it and someone mentioned foundation issues which can be really serious in a brick house, but I don’t see any serious delamination outside, so… Anyway, even if it was a total loss, I’m pretty sure I could find SOMETHING in this totally charming place and the trip alone would be worth it.It’s only about an hour and a half to St Louis, which is a major air hub.
