I love the house, especially the exterior. It would be nice to see a different paint scheme on the outside. I would want to bring the kitchen sink in the basement up to the kitchen. It might be nice to see the floors under all that carpet!

I think they ought to at least put curtains around that toilet so people coming down the t
stairs can’t see you taking a dump, lol! Otherwise, I think it’s great house.

Wonderful! I would keep the kitchen as-is and just add some old-fashioned knobs to the cabinets.

My grandpa added a toilet just like this in the basement at their house in Detroit. With 8 kids in the family and one bathroom, no one cared about a curtain, they just had to go……

  4. Another freestanding basement toilet! Definitely needs a curtain.

Everything looks very well kept, should be quite easy to make it your own.

The house I grew up in also had a toilet in the basement like that. Though it had a partition around it. The original floor plan of the house had the bathroom with a bathtub and sink upstairs but toilet in the basement. Built in 1905. Many homes had toilets on the second floor by then so I always wondered what the thought was. No where to put that second bathroom? Emergency? lol
On a serious note, I have read some articles where people still had concern or disgust with the toilet being in the living area. Maybe those thinkers were the ones that wanted it in the cellar? Who knows. I have also seen on the second floor, the toilet in its own room too.

  5. Make another bathroom down stairs would be a nice addition. All the wall paper and the paint needs to be changed. I wouldn’t do much to the kitchen except add some old fashion knobs to the cabinets and a nice farm house sink. The floors would all have to be done back to the original hard wood. Very beautiful house I may add some dark gray to the outside.
