Great house and property on beautiful land. I would be curious to see some old photos to see what the columned front porch would have looked in order to restore this feature. It would totally change the outer appearance along with a subtler color scheme.

The cornice conveys a strong Federal vibe while the entry is pure Greek Revival. The porch, possibly an early Greek Revival alteration, was likely a knock-out…I’d also like to see it restored.

Madison has so many beautiful old homes. The Christmas home tour is fantastic if anyone gets a chance to go.

Don’t know if you can tell, but looks like this house comes with several pecan trees. As long as you fertilize them you would have buckets and buckets of pecans. I love pecan orchards, except when the tree hangs over a tin roof. Noisiest autumn you could imagine when those nuts hit the roof. That’s what my meemaw had and I couldn’t sleep there in the fall.
