Oh, if I had the courage to live so isolated. What a dream.

I have the courage but not currently the situation to do so. This is absolutely my dream, winters and all. BTW, I wonder if the foottraffic right of way means the OWNER has right of way to the water, or that OTHERS have right of way through your land to the water?

      • Yes, your concern about the footpath is shared. That would disrupt the privacy of that wonderful place considerably.

I am pretty sure it means the person owning this place has a right of way to the water. Other wise Kelly would say there is a right of way on the property.
As least I think she would… or something like that. Don’t want to put words in her mouth.

        wrong for my taste

Probably also means that there is no way to put a boat in there.

I read it as there is private land between this property and the water, but there is a right to access the water by foot from this property that runs with the land. If others had a right to cross this land then that would be an excluded right, not an included right. So you could launch a boat as long as you can carry the boat to the water, like a kayak or canoe.

This home isn’t really in an isolated location. I live in Lubec- what a wonderful Maine village! This home is only a couple of miles from town. Beautiful views of the Bay of Fundy. And no, its not incredibly cold here -one most mild parts of Maine in the winter. The Eastern-most town in the continental US. Lubec is a short walk across a small bridge to Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada.

I don’t think I have seen anything from the state of Maine, I haven’t liked.
What a place. And I love living semi-isolated now. Wish it could be better.
I don’t think I could ever go back to living in a real neighborhood.
This is gorgeous and on the water as it is.wow

Have stayed at the Hotel over the old herring factory a couple of times….. right on the water. We had the greatest lobster bisque in Lubec. We’ve gone on line several times looking at historic houses there, thinking summer since winters are brutal. From Lubec you cross the bridge into Canada and Campabello. This is a sweet house…..perfect for part time in a place time has stopped.

Cute little cottage, and it would be fun to say “I can see Canada from my house!”

Would it be possible for this little place to be any cuter? I don’t think so. One thing does stand out for me: there seems to be no trees near enough to the house for shade/wind break. I’d plant some quick but other than that, I’d take this in a heartbeat.
