18 N Main St, Homer, NY 13077
This magnificent historic home was originally built by Jedediah Barber in 1825 and 1826. The Greek Revival style is complemented by the iron grilles in the frieze' and spectacular fluted ionic columns. The home has many details including the curved door in the foyer, many built-in shutters, crown mouldings and the breath taking curved staircase with chandeliers commissioned by a craftsman which also did work on Independence Hall. Floor to ceiling height in the entry is 28 feet. The second and third floors are 14' and 12'. There is also a back staircase. The restoration was enormous and included nearly every aspect of the house. The property fronts on North Main Street and Maple Avenue with an outbuilding. Please see attached maps. It is zoned R-2 and the owner will NOT subdivide.
