A southern center hall design of a type commonly built across the South from the 1840’s to about 1915. The only differences over the decades were stylistic flourishes popular at the time of construction. Early examples can have Greek Revival or Gothic Revival details while later examples can have Queen Anne or simple Stick style elements. The beautiful gingerbreaded posts add a lot of charm to this classic Southern folk style home. Nice landscaping around it as well. In streetview, there are several other double gabled homes like this going down the street. Possibly by the same builder?
