The Lyle House (Circa 1805. This handsome Federal residence would qualify as one of the more important structures in Paris based on its architecture alone, but Lyle House was also the first institution devoted to the education of girls & women, west of the Allegheny Mountains. Meticulous attention to preservation was followed during the renovation by the current owner. Four years ago, the house was extensively rewired & new, enhanced service was brought in from the street, underground, & breakers added. All baseboard electrical outlets were replaced with grounded outlets & floor outlets were added in the LR & GR. Central air was installed in with 3 zones affording comfort throughout the year & the plumbing was updated or replaced. An elevator services the 1st & 2nd floor. The renovated kitchen, seamlessly integrated into the history of the home & featured in a national magazine, has upscale appliances w/gorgeous counters & prep space creating a functional, workspace.
