This has the potential to be such a charming gem of a house. I’m trying to imagine how it might have looked originally before the brick and shingles were painted white. What color might that sweet cottage trim have been? These DIY houses really give the imagination some exercise.

The front facade (likely reworked around 1890) is very impressive. I was mentally daydreaming and thought if the house had been raised a few feet higher rather than close to ground level if would have been even more impressive. The interior details suggest an 1875-1885 date with the tall mirrored columned mantel being from around 1900. As it is now, the house is largely a blank slate…but if I were going to take it to specific period, around 1880 would bridge the 1890’s front with the older interior. The house probably started out as an Italianate but was later updated to a generic Queen Anne with lavish millwork.

With a period color scheme, this wonderful house would be spectacular.

Just the kind of house I’d love to save! And I could even live in Paris! I just need a partner….with a lot of skills!
