The property is surrounded by countless, century-old olive groves. It is located on a hillside and has unobstructed views of the wooded gorge of the river Tyflos. The village has few houses while approximately 7 km away are Topolia and Elos, two big villages where you will find a mini market, a pharmacy, several restaurants and traditional cafes.

The house is south-facing and is built on a rock, which is visible in almost all the walls on its north side. It is divided into two floors with separate entrances. On the lower floor there is a large room and just outside is the old bathroom, which has been renovated and has a shower. Before the main entrance to the upper floor there is a large courtyard with a built-in table that has excellent views. The layout of the floor follows the traditional architecture, according to which almost all the areas are connected to each other while each room is connected to the courtyard, which is the meeting point of the building. Here, there are a living and dining area with fireplace, a bedroom, a kitchen, a large bathroom and a storage room. The fireplace serves all the property as it is connected to a central heating system with radiators. There are also solar panel and large backup water tank.

On the plot of the house there are many olive trees, a traditional wood oven, flower gardens and plenty of space to add anything else you want in the future. There is also buildable area of 280 m² upon the land and therefore you can expand your existing residence or construct one more building or more. A nice path leads to the rooftop terrace of the home, from where the view over the plain and the olive groves is breathtaking. The property is suitable for seclusion as it offers complete tranquility, which is disturbed only by the sounds of nature.

The location is an ideal starting point for some of the most wonderful beaches of the island, such as Elafonissi, Balos, Kedrodasos, Sfinari and Falasarna. Within about 30 minutes' drive is the small town of Kissamos, where you will find schools, banks and all kinds of shops and services. The city and airport of Chania are about 60 and 70 minutes' drive, respectively.

I just made a dish from “My Greek Table with Diane Kochilas” (PBS) and was thinking my new home really should be in Greece 😀 The views are virtually identical to what is seen on her show—amazing! Oh if only!

Oh my, oh my. This is such a beautiful and romantic location. Heck you could buy it, rent it for vacationers and then keep it to yourself any time you wanted. Where’s my husband?

I love it. Greece is such a vibrant and warm country with people who love life and live it to the fullest. This house is unique in that it is traditional and there are probably very few foreigners in the area so you would get the real Greek experience. And I would be out hugging those old olive trees everyday.

I just love these rustic properties, these stones houses. And with such a view, who wouldn’t want to live there??

  13. Wowzer. Living here would be so far from the life I’m accustomed to. I see a lot of opportunities to sit and visit with friends, enjoying the view, or to read by the fire in the winter. Just beautiful. So simple.

WOW, move in condition for that price, amazing! I was disappointed to see some dust on the kitchen counter though…wink, wink!
