The stone house lover's inspiration was built in 1820 and continues to be lovingly preserved for future generations, tucked behind a European-style wall built from old barn stones, w/double iron-hinged gate for vehicles. Sip your wine next to the rolling stream, w/courtyard that looks like it's paved in cobblestones, a peak of an old mill in the background. Patio leads to a gourmet center island kitchen that blends modern and vintage touches. From the living room with its deep windowsills and wide-plank flooring, follow the hallway to a private suite with a family room and guest BR adjoined by a full bath. A wall of windows in both rooms opens to the gentle cadence of the stream below. Recent restorations include a marble bathroom, vintage window-glass, custom hand-printed wallpaper, antique doors, and chair rails. Located just north of Riegelsville Bridge and less than 90 minutes from NYC and Phila. Some work needs to be done in the living room and kitchen to finish the restoration.

A pretty and solid looking house, with a new kitchen which is not too OTT. A lot of the stone looks like it sort of glows a sunny golden, as Cotswold stone bldgs do. My cats would love the wide windowsills for sunning themselves, and I would love the stream and already-planted perennials & bulbs.

I actually drove by this house today. The house is listed as Easton, Pa but it is in the most beautiful, rural area. Oh….if I only had the moolah!

I wonder if all the other fireplaces have stone behind them – would be nice to expose that stone and make a beautiful wooden mantelpiece for each one.

Right?! When I see a stone house I always want the interior walls to all be stone, too. Guess I need to go back to the Middle Ages for that, though … and yes, stone walls are cold … but I LOVE Stone!
