“Featuring unusual curved framing entry with two decorative doors” was not unusual in 1876.
Lovely home, I makes me happy to see the two over two windows on the ground floor. Makes me wish our had never been replaced with vinyl.

What a sweet house. I love a big island with a sink. You can roll out homemade egg noodles and …swish….easy clean up right into the sink.

Part of the NRHP Merchants Avenue Historic District:
Businessman Frank Allen built this cream brick Italianate house in 1876. It features a complex hipped roof, wide eaves with brackets, and a corner Italianate entry porch. The tall, narrow windows have segmental wooden hoodmolds and there is a two-story wooden bay window on the south facade. A small one-story rear addition includes a one-car garage.

Charming! Love the double entry doors & all the sunlight coming in the huge windows, the stairway is elegant, the French doors & the kitchen desk & cabinets.

Oh, so many beautiful homes… I don’t know how anyone can choose a favorite architectural style!? I love that the windows go to the floor… it’s funny because just this morning as I was looking up at my huge windows I was thinking if I had the $$ I would bring all the windows down to floor level – I just love the look!

This is a beautiful home. I love the color of the bricks on the exterior. The paint colors are so warm and inviting, and the wallpaper in the bathroom is gorgeous. The stairway and doors are fabulous. Reminds me of the beautiful homes in Palmer Woods in Detroit. I love it!
