These little cottages always have “Just Married” painted on the front when I see them. The part of your life when you only see the sun coming through the window and not the rain leaking through the roof.
That description made me smile. 🙂
So romantic. Love what you said…
That is so beautifully said!

What a neat little old place! All the mish mash of styles and old stuff creates a great atmosphere. It reminds me of our family lake cabin.
I’ll take it, with all the stuff!
Iowa County , WI
Deer blind,goose pic,pheasant pic,metal roof. I’ll take it.
chichipox, The happiest times of my life was when I was young, broke, and just starting out. Nowhere to go but up. Me and the wife are looking at buying a 120 year old house in a small town right now. We’ll have to take a step down money wise, but I think we’d be happier! 🙂 Kind of like starting over again, but we’re in our 50’s!
This would be a fantastic home stead!
“Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” written all over it. Just a great place.
My thoughts exactly!
I adore this place. I would love to get my hands on it.
Shiplap heaven, what a great little piece of heaven on earth!
I think I have the siblings of a chair and rocking chair in this house! This one appeals so me it is so like my Grandma Massey’s house. This house is located in the wrong state though.
This house reminds me of North Georgia’s older homes. Needs some paint and polish, other wise it’s worth all the land and cotton.

Posted last year, back on the market (after being off, not sold yet.) Thought I’d move it to the front page. 🙂
Fabulous, but sooooooooo not 1930s!

Very true, more late 1890’s to c. 1900 or so.
We are thinking of copying their front door when it comes time to replace ours…if we ever get that far.

this little sweetie really speaks, imagine when it was newer and the hard working family sitting on the porch in the evening, finally relaxing. Maybe an old radio with everyone sitting around it. Good lord I love this little gem.
The comments tell me we’re all thinking about times when life was simpler (yet harder in so many ways). This little piece of history is so much more about living, than it is about trends and styling. I love it. After a lifetime of buying and renovating city homes, I’m looking for that simple cottage/cabin that shows its long life, and sits looking over a bit lakeshore. Ahhhh, lovely…..but it would have to have wifi. LOL
This is the kind of house that brings you home. I want to go back in time and grow up here.
I would buy this in a minute……
Aw, this sweet house makes me think of my Grandmother’s house in Lincolnton, NC.
Sweet! Is that a cotton field? I love the whole thing…if wishes came true.
Makes me want to get in that kitchen and fix a mess of collards and cornbread. Maybe some snap beans…
Smalltown, OK
May be an ‘as-is’, but I’d leave it as it is! and all the furnishings and decor, too. The only thing I would change is the door with the diamond shaped window. Reminds me of an old trailer house door.
Since clearly the acreage accounts for a significant portion of the value of this property, it seems there should have been multiple exterior photos included. I would love to see the lay of land and the topography of those 65 acres.
