    This is a FABULOUS house!

It was designed by architect Charles Squires. Who designed my house, which is close by!

Squires lived on Exchange and his house is extant. He designed more buildings in Emporia than any other architect.

Anyway, I was in this house four years ago. It is a delight! Just magical and charming.

Even the 1960s kitchen is great. It was certainly designed by an architect and is well laid out, and of high quality. It has a HUGE window overlooking the rear yard.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE this house.

Is this one of the houses you’ve done a blog post about before?

You’re sure right about that beautiful, quality, vintage kitchen. One huge plus is the timelessness of the cabinet design. The cleanness of line and emphasis on the beauty of the quality wood hardly stained brings it right up to date with finer mod kitchens. Anyone would be NUTS to wreck it. It will last for generations to come!

Ross, which house on Exchange was his? I’m trying to picture all of the pretty ones, there are many.

This house belonged to the tennis coach at ESU when I was in high school, and his daughter was in my class, we were friends. He was a single father, and he didn’t “update” – thank goodness! I was always enamored with this house and remember sitting on the front steps with friends many a night.

      I LOVE this house.

The only things I would change are the kitchen countertops and the window treatments.
