  1. I don’t think there’s a catch. In farming areas, an acreage like this is still priced mostly according to the cropland/woodland/recreational value rather than what the house might be valued at, and this is a fairly typical price right now here in Wisconsin for the size, location, etc. Wausau is a nice area, not as rural as some of us for those who need a small city nearby.

  2. Looks like the East front corner of the foundation is compromised. Notice the corner of the house doesn’t seem to be sitting down flush on the foundation stones…

      • The whole porch needs to be removed, I just saw this home while I was in Wausau. Some bad remodel a tempts may have createdsafety and or structural issues inside . There were many charming , original features and the land is absolutely breath taking. If you have money to burn this could be a dream home. If you don’t have money…….? Well?

  3. For the right people, this could be paradise. It’s got good bones and good natural light, large rooms, and enough original features to warm my heart. The area is quite nice, but it is a bit of a drive into town. For someone seeking privacy and a place to raise horses or other light farming, it’s ideal. That little lane in the first photo is the 700+ foot driveway, so you’re going to need your own plow. This place is a dream I unable was able to pursue in my younger days. I hope someone with vision, ambition and a bit of money can rescue and breathe new life into this tired home. Many in the area raise ginseng, so that is also an option, provided the land hasn’t been used for that purpose prior. In looking at county records, it’s hard to get a clear picture of the story behind this place. There are a couple years of unpaid taxes, and the listed owners live back east in MD. If walls could talk…

  5. I agree about the wallpaper, Andi! Very interesting and I think you could do a really cool eclectic farmhouse design style with it! I love this house.
