So funny – I had this one set aside for the Friday Link Exchange! It’s setting is not as bad as it could be, but when you see it on site it looks like is is sinking – could be the proportions or the landscaping. Would be very impressive restored and with a good Victorian garden setting. I took some photos last year when I went by; I’ll try to find them and see if they show more of the exterior.

(Just down the road from the Gardner “haunted” mansion.

Octagon houses had a moment in the 1850s/60s. I never knew until I saw one in Wisconsin. Here’s a list of some more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_octagon_houses

Looks like its been badly neglected… Wonder if it can be economically saved….

This is a link to a website of what I consider the most incredible octagon in the the country. Only Nutt’s Folly comes close, but was never finished. Mr. Pellombardi has done an amazing job restoring it to period perfection. Well worth the read!

I’ve attached a link to the exploration of an octagon house in Ohio. It’s actually a three part series, but I’ve only attached links to parts two and three which show the interior. I cried myself to sleep knowing I couldn’t have it LOL. I think this place is quite a treasure. Enjoy!
