305 E Newman St, Cuero, TX 77954

After the ruinous hurricane in Indianola, TX in 1875, this historic gem was dismantled, boards numbered, moved by ox cart to Cuero and rebuilt by 1877. The current owners have refurbished aspects of the home. It has been rented in recent years as a vacation rental/special events venue for weddings and family reunions with the spacious 5 bedrooms, garage apartment, and the stunning backyard with an ancient, sprawling oaktree (home to the neighborhood deer). Many architectural details remains intact: original shiplap, beautiful hardwood floors, moldings on archways, wood casement windows, and the stunning floor-to-ceiling fireplace with built-in mirror. A smaller pier & beam home is situated to the left of the home and could be renovated for an additional two-bedroom rental, artist's studio, home office, or private residence for an aging parent. A private well supplies water to the garage apartment; the large garage can be a workshop. This home's history can continue with you!
