The Pollard-Nelson House was built in Greek Revival style before 1845. Listed in The National Register of Historical Sites, this house was "the most desirable residence in town" according to a "Logan Chief" newspaper article dated August 9, 1845. This historic property includes 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (true to their time) with original wooden toilet tank lined in copper, porcelain tubs, and thick marble walls. This house includes 2 kitchens (one with heated floors), hardwood floors throughout, period accurate historical registered wallpaper, several antique gas chandelier lights converted to electric, 6 fireplaces, 2 large safes, two-story Doric order columns on the exterior North side of the house with a full length shallow portico and wrought iron railing. A beautiful staircase leads from the East Great Room to the second floor. There is also a separate stairway and elevator at the Southwest part of the house. A sloped asphalt drive leads to a 13' x 24' attached carport. Wrought iron fencing surrounds the property with a handsome wrought iron front gate. This is a "MUST SEE" house with historical value to Logansport and Cass County.
