Is that a condensing unit on the porch roof? You don’t see that everyday.

You’re right, I didn’t catch that until I looked at the porch roof below and wondered how it could have water damage three feet away from the wall where a flashing failure would be.

Yep. That made me do a double-take. I thought….no way!! My eyes must be really tired tonight. Seems like another, less obtrusive place could’ve been found for the condensing unit.

Lovely 1890’s home on a decent size lot. Milford is located about midway between Waxahachie and Hillsboro, Texas. There are a number of smaller towns in this region that have retained a fair number of their late 19th and early 20th century architecture. As many can tell, this house likely began as a standard towered or turreted Queen Anne that around the turn if the last century added some Classical Revival details that may have reminded older folks of the Southern Greek Revival “Temple” type homes from the Antebellum era. Of course, these later versions only superficially resembled those from the first half of the 1800’s but inside they were up to date for the dawn of the new century. I can readily accept that this comfortable looking home originally housed the family of the town mayor. I love that upstairs porch which is surely a pleasant place to catch breezes on warm summer days.
