From the National Register: " BLAIR-AMIS HOUSE Constructed in 1898, the house' s original owner, William Blair, was president of the Fort Smith Lumber Company and American National Bank. He died in 1903, and Dr. John C. Amis, a physician, purchased the house. Mrs. Jane Amis, a registered nurse, owned the house from the mid-1920s until around 1940. The property remained in the Amis family until 1955. This is a two-and-one-half-story Queen Anne/Classical Revival dwelling with a stone foundation, brick exterior, and hip roof of asphalt shingles with a central, hip roof dormer at the peak of the main roof, and one-over-one wood sash windows. The fac;:ade has a full-width porch with a gable pedimented entrance bay and paired columns on stone piers. Above it is a one-bay balcony with similar columns."
