Amazing 1888 East Topsham School District 2 Schoolhouse. Many original features still intact. This was a former two room school for grades first to eighth, until it closed in 1972. The property is located on a dead end road with wonderful frontage on the Tabor Branch of the Waits River. Level open lawn area with flowers. Large open living room, dining room, kitchen, office. Two bedrooms upstairs and 3 large areas of unfinished storage space - 25X21 & 19X14 on the 2nd level. The 3rd level has an attic storage area 38X10. Full basement with walkout bulkhead. There is a large gas pottery kiln in a detached shed on the property also used for storage and a large electric pottery kiln in the basement for those who love doing pottery. ROW through property. Wonderful residential or seasonal get-a-way.

Very nice restoration, I don’t understand that last picture, tho. Do you have to drive thru this to get to the house??

I also wondered about the last picture. If you go to the living room picture with the 4 large windows and look out the windows you see what appears to be those homes and/or buildings. It’s odd that they do not show up in any of the outside pictures.
Interesting place with lots of possibilities.

Hi Nancy, Check out the aerial view and you can see these are the buildings on the street before getting to the school house…looks like an interesting little town! Beautiful place for the price!

  2. The last photo is the view of your neighborhood. The one neighbor has chickens running all over and debris in their yard. Another building is owned by the township. Also, internet here is not fast though they hope to get fiber optic within three years.
