OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY when you purchase the Algerine Hill Schoolhouse! Built in1835 it still has the charm of a one room school house! When you enter you can envision the children coming in to the front hallway and putting their coats to the side and entering into either side of the school room. Today you find the original chalk boards still in place but a modern kitchenenette and open concept for living room, dining and even an area for a bedroom with 9 ft ceilings. Heading down the hallway you will find another room that could be a bedroom or a sitting room that goes out to the front deck. Continuing to the next area is the full bathroom with CLAWFOOT tub and composting toilet on one side and utility room on the other with NEW HOT WATER ON DEMAND.The house has a propane furnace for heating and the original woodstove made by Wherle Company and an additional wood stove that is available and goes with the sale. (currently not hooked up but pipe is still there).Outside a small stream runs on the back side of property along with an area to sit and have a picnic and fire while listening to the sounds of the babbling stream. There is a newer Amish Shed for storage your storage needs.Great for a quiet get away, an artist or writers retreat. History of school along with pictures remain in the house.
