Super lake house! It fits into the landscape well & has a restful spacious MCM character. You have to LOVE the aqua appliances & counters! I am not a fan of open kitchens at all — they’ve done a good job here of making it separate but still communicating with the living area.

  2. Now this is how MCM should be – mix of furniture not a trendy all “period appropriate” (like people actually did when the houses were new). And the kitchen is fantastic – TOL GE appliances AND A DOUBLE OVEN!! If the hanging lights are Thurston designs for Lightolier they are valuable. Please somebody buy this and love it like it is.

A dear friend of mine lived in a house he built in 1962. It had all turquoise appliances, including double ovens, dishwasher, stove top, and the sink! It was glorious.

I, too, hope the new owners leave this the way it is! MCM is not my style, but this is great. It reminds me of all the lake homes we visited (and lived in briefly) when I was a kid. Just looking at it I can smell summer…
