James "Jimmie" Burns, owner of Portland Mine in Cripple Creek/Victor on Battle Mountain, purchased and enlarged house at the turn of the century complete with a huge detached multi-car [stable/garage] and carriage house which originally served as manservant quarters. This Dutch Colonial Revival-style residence sits on 2 lots [2/3 acre]. Current owners purchased house in early 1970s after the house had been converted into 8 apartments. Current configuration includes approximately 50 rooms with 13 bedrooms and 10 baths. House was originally built in 1898, not 1900 as shown on assessor records. Buyer responsible for verifying all dimensions and room configurations/specifications. Residence will require a major renovation to bring it back to its original state as a single family residence or as an apartment complex. New roof in 1998; electrical service upgrade in 2001.
