Rich in history & in need of TLC! This historical Lubec Landmark is ready for some love. Built about 1844 , it was known as the Methodist Episcopal Church until roughly 1934 when it was deeded to the I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows), in 1969 it was deeded to the Rural Youth Corp and used for dances, theater, and other events. From the beautiful hard wood floors to the stunning tin walls/ceilings - there is a lot left to work with. The possibilities are endless - residential, commercial, studio.... Great in town location, partial water views, & lots of potential! is motivated!

The front has changed a bit but I love the interior and the possibilities it has!
The first and last time I recall seeing Lubec Maine mentioned was back on September 19, 2019 when I saw an 1840 Greek Revival at 35 School Street Lubec for sale on OHD, and it was love at first sight. Here it is:

I wanted to rush off to Lubec, hug it and tell it what a perfect house it is. Looks like it’s still for sale (that’s surprising!)
And now we have a church for sale at 23 School Street, Lubec. Wow! I hope it is rescued by an individual with a love of old buildings and the imagination to give it a new life.
I remember that house ! It was that special tub that made an impression. Funny you should mention it.
