    So much here!

Architecturally, the configuration of the main staircase is typical of that part of Kentucky (I think).

Locationally, the property is near the Shaker community museum, Bowling Green, and Mammoth Cave.

Personally, I could be very happy here. So long as I don’t have to mow that yard!

Honey, just get your husband an old tractor and you’ll never have to mow the lawn. My dad is 90 years old and he just got a new tractor and can’t wait to go out and mow the fields!
Besides that this house is beautiful. It is Tara from the outside but a beautiful home on the inside.

I’m so afraid someone is going to buy this, just to subdivide it up! I hope not!
Beautiful house-I love the colors the present owners have used, so its really move in ready, for me! I have some friends who just moved to Bowling Green, to work at the corvette plant-I’ll have to tell them, to look out for open houses here!

    Charleston, SC

The John Viers house, as it’s described on the NRHP, is comprised of a slightly remodeled, two story Greek Revival front section and an ell that was likely a Shaker house dating to around 1820. John Viers bought the original house, along with 200 acres, from the South Union Colony of Shakers in 1838. Sometime between then and 1860, John Viers built an attached Greek Revival structure. The property was expanded in 1860 with another 700 acres purchased from the Shakers, and the town of Auburn was established here in 1865. The front portico is a later addition made in the 20th century, when it appears some other modifications were made to the house.

  5. almost sad to see this! grew up near here and have many happy memories participating in the maple syrup festival they owners hosted every year — such a cool property and i hope someone continues the maple syrup!
