Wow, an original Tipton Victorian home with all the wood accent and features. Back Stair case to upper level. Welcoming front porch and side porch and yard gazebo. 4 bedrooms on uppper level with a completely finished 3rd level that would be a great Master Suite or Man/Woman Cave. Large Carriage house off alley and a detached two car garage. Home needs some work and is being sold as is. 24 hour notice is required to show. With Covid 19 only preapproved and serious buyers.

Is that a washroom off the kitchen with a pass through window and no door?

I think it is! Couldn’t imagine why but it seems to be there. Was so surprised and pleased to see so much of the original woodwork still intact. Given a choice between trying to restore painted floors and woodwork and finding some period appropriate light fixtures I’ll take the lights. The kitchen is a keeper! It would have been high end in its day and with good flooring, and a really good scrub it isn’t too far away from being high end again. The attic is so bright and sunny that I can see it as a fabulous work room. It has the modern stuff it needs, mostly, but it still has all of its character just a little under the surface. Pretty neighborhood and easy access to the grocery store. What more could you want?

  2. There are many fine Victorians in Tipton. It is close enough to Iowa City to commute to. Pretty little town, too.

What a cute house with great curb appeal! I love the kitchen cabinets and the iron fence and gate out front is great. It looks to even have it’s own barn!

Absolutely fell in love with that kitchen, in spite of the doorless bathroom! 🙂 The only one thing I would really change is the color of the house itself. I LOVE pink in everything except on the outside of houses. Don’t know why, but it completely turns me off. So if this little gem were to become mine, I would get the painting crew in there before I moved in. Then I’d concentrate on the yard and spiffi-fying it up to charm passersby. Cute, cute, cute. I hear that Tipton is a sweet little town with super friendly folks, too. NICE!
