Great potential here, and a charming little town. One has to smile at the realtor’s tongue in check description of quiet neighbors in the back.

Absolutely is! I didn’t catch the quiet neighbors in the back comment when reading through but that is very funny. I almost bought a house with a very small old cemetery across the street. The realtor referred to it as an underground condominium that should be no trouble but many people didn’t want to live by a burial ground. I personally would never turn down a house if it was near a cemetery. I like lack of neighbors and don’t get into spirits and ghost stories. In fact, a nice stroll through a cemetery is quite fun sometimes. Some of the old stones are fascinating and the surroundings in some are quite park like. We used to walk through the old cemetery across from my grandmother in Derby CT. Some of those old stones were so fascinating with their unusual poems carved into them. I remember one of them like “Shed no tears over my dried bones, [can’t remember this par] and tremble at your own”

Waahahahahhaa! “underground condominium!” Hahahah! Personally, when I was on the road in business, I would choose a cemetery for my morning exercise 5 mile speed walk. Much safer than parks, and so fascinating to read the memorials and markers, particularly if they were historic, which in Texas, is a bit hard to find.

Absolutely hate the high taxes but absolutely love the house. A great period home here which, if it were mine I’d enliven it some with brighter period colors to highlight the wealth of exterior details Nice to have the old illustration for comparison.

Cafe & a hardware store just up the street, pretty park across the street. Not a fan of the “quiet neighbors” but with a high fence & shrubs…….

I wouldn’t mind the quiet neighbors at all! I used to walk in the cemetery every day when I worked full time at a Pittsburgh hospital. It was a nice quiet place in a busy area! I think that I would have to paint this beauty in a purple and navy color palette!

What a beautiful exterior! The pictures just make me want to grab a scraper and some paint brushed and get to work!
