In the Tuscia area at the door of Tuscan Val di Chiana, 16th-century Renaissance palace in the center of the historical town of Acquapendente. Commissioned in 1581 to the architect Ippolito Scalza by the Abbot of Lyon Monsignor Viscontini, the palace stands on three levels emerging from the skyline of the surrounding buildings with a majestic covered area of about 3000 square meters. In addition to its central portal, the ground floor has four other rectangular doors leading to the warehouses that in the past centuries accommodated carriages and horses. From the street and from the central portal through a vast entrance hall you can access the portico that opens onto the elegant rectangular courtyard. On the side of the garden, the courtyard is delimited by an imposing balustrade that, resting on a high frame, is placed above the courtyard and overlooks the private garden located on the level of the main floor. The facade of the palace on the garden consists of two buildings connected by the balustrade. The plan of the building follows a 'U' pattern around the central courtyard, with the two arms of the palace overlooking the garden. Returning to the portico on the courtyard, a monumental staircase leads up to the imposing main floor with 8 bedrooms, 6 with en suite bathrooms, and the completely frescoed central Hall, with paintings of heroines from classical antiquity. In the other two rooms facing the front of the building there are splendid frescoes of the Mannerist school. In the palace there is a 16th century spiral staircase that climbs from the entrance hall up to the top floor, where the kitchens and staff's quarters were located, and reaches up to a tower where you can enjoy 360° views over the city. The Renaissance artistic heritage matches a location at a crossroad between the Tuscan Val di Chiana, the famous thermal baths of San Casciano (27 km away), and the splendid Bolsena lake (10 km away), making the property logistically valuable for any type of investment. Siena is about 90 km away, other nearby historical cities are Radicofani (30 km away), Città Della Pieve (45 km) and Orvieto (30km) while the Argentario area with its beautiful beaches is 100 km away. Rome is also well connected by highway, being distant 140 km while Viterbo is 50 km away.
