Even after the auction date listed, check the Hubzu linked up top as the date is often pushed forward if no one bids or the reserve is not met. I rarely remember to change the dates on OHD.
This sure looks much, much older than 1860. Anyone else?

It definitely feels closer to 1800-1810.
I’m so in love…. This could be a real beauty with a bit of TLC.
While the summer kitchen, with its walk-in fireplace, looks older, I’m not so sure about the house. I am far from an expert, but I live in the area, and have spent countless hours driving the back roads, checking out older houses. One aspect that makes me think that the listing date may be correct is that, and forgive my lack of proper terminology, but the chimney on the main block is not built into the house. It extends out from the wall, just like chimney’s in late 19th century and more modern houses. If you check the street view, and follow the country roads, you’ll see many older stone homes, and those from the 18th and early 19th centuries all have the chimney built into the wall of the house. I may be wrong though. Could the chimney been added later?
Hubzu auction ends on 9/25, current bid is $109,000. Listed on other sites for $159,000, five acres with baseboard hot water heat, well, septic, $7,094 taxes, last sold in 1995 for $170,000. Looks like a winner!

The list price on listing sites is not a real price, they have to put something in there.
Thanks Kelly for that info. I’m learning so much from this site!
I have to win the lottery, because I’d love to get my hands on this house!
