109 S Church St, Garyville, LA 70051

Esperance, or Hope Plantation, 109 S Church Street, Garyville LA 70051 The Millet family have owned it 4 years short of 100 years. Originally 3 room 1850 French Creole residence with Greek Revival details and gallery on all 4 sides. Unusual in that side of the home, rather than front faced the river. Current L shape form dates from a major enlargement about 1900 with new hip roof over entire residence and Eastlake gallery treatment. The 4-room guest house was a building with Millet connections moved from its original location a quarter of a mile downriver.
