One of Tusket's most important architectural treasures, the Peter Lent Hatfield House. This Provincial and Municipally Registered Heritage Property is a one and a half story Gothic Revival Style home that has many features of Greek Revival Style Architecture. Peter Lent Hatfield built this grand residence in the early 1860's and was a prominent Land Surveyor for the Country. It retains all of its original features, grand walnut spiral staircase, 10" interior casements, original interior and exterior doors. This home features 10 spacious rooms on two floors. The main level enters from the front into a vestibule trimmed in cut glass panels. The main hall is wide and deep with its most important feature, a return walnut staircase. To the right of the main entrance is a salon parlour which runs the length of the main building. A wood-burning stove is located in this principal room complete with hardwood floors. The formal dining room feature hardwood flooring and original built in, cabinet, wainscotted walls and a window seat. Off the kitchen is a glassed in porch/mudroom that leads to an enclosed courtyard to the parking area and 2 storey detached carriage house that is used as a yoga studio. The second floor features a large upper hall with bayed window and 4 principal bedrooms. A fifth bedroom is accessed up the maid's staircase.
