    I would say the home has been renovated in a rustic Primitive style rather than restored, although original details appear intact.

    This was the home in the 19th century of the Waters family, who came from Yorkshire, England about 1832. The local history says that they were among a group of English miners that adapted to farming here – “hard work for 30 years was the lot for all of them”.

    Would houses of this time period in Ohio have originally been unpainted? I would think that the climate is too harsh for that.
