Build date on record is 1920 but I felt it may be just a hair older than that.

    Poor thing!

I think from the picture of the back area that the house has an older wing that didn’t face the road. It looks like an entrance door to a center hallway with two sidelites on the back porch. There are no pictures of the right side of the house. I think that was the older front of the house … or the back.

This house fulfills all of my “abandoned” house exploration fantasies! If I lived near Greeneville I would be there asap to check this place out.

This house needs a savior so it can be a home again. I see 9 over 6 windows to maybe hint at an earlier date, but there aren’t many interior photos to tell for sure. Greeneville is a pretty area … I can imagine it would be fun to do some clearing and maybe open up the views. The property looks like it has great trees, and no telling what kinds of shrubs and bulbs could be lurking there! I was a little surprised to see Ionic style columns. Poor thing is missing the entire second story porch. But the piano remains! ?

When I saw that piano I heard western saloon music in my head. I have seen all types of pianos in old house pics but this one appeals to me somehow. O’h buy the way, I wish someone would save this house.

Yeah, I did a double take on the ionic columns. There are other cool and subtle details in the eaves and around the windows. We have rehabbed worse than this. I agree that brush clearing would yield benefits in view.

Sold for 187K in 2005! I’m wondering if somebody had grand ideas for Baileyton 15 years ago? How sad to see it now.

If I were a handyman with a herd of goats, I’d buy it today. The setting seems really peaceful.

Looks inviting and comfy. I’d save it. and take piano lessons. Driving South to Florida from Chicago, on US 41, one would see lots of chiminies and foundations along the road side. This is even better. And in the volunteer state as well.
