I hope Realtor.com won’t update the old listing page until you had a chance to see these (different link than the one up top): https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/440-Route-1_Monticello_ME_04760_M32899-96078
Not a Federal home. I’m guessing this started out as a Greek Revival or even Italianate or had a mix of both styles.
Oh wow, Kelly! What great pictures. Thank you for a better insight. This would be such a cool house to live in!
Lovely home, a lot of great features and the good news is, the stairway is halfway stripped of it’s paint already! Love that ruby glass in the front door. The floors are really nice too. It just needs a loving hand to bring her back.
That is a really good price! Tempting me to move there!
That price cannot be correct! Look at those tin ceilings!!!! OMG
I agree. In my area (inexpensive Iowa) you couldn’t buy a burnt-out shell for this price! What a deal for someone who wants to put in a little sweat equity.
I would live there!

The lack of icicles suggests it isn’t being heated. I hope it was properly winterized! Nice floors and ceilings!
Does anyone know where you can purchase the ceiling tiles that are installed in several of the rooms?
I can not get over the price!! Awesome home & by a river? There’s gotta be a good reason why the price? I’m not a glass is half empty kinda person but the curious one! I live in Texas & I’m like wow how could I do this!!
They look original to me, so I’d say your most likely source would be salvage companies…
I am the new owner. The house is as gorgeous as pictured. We have spent the last year and some looking at how to update while keeping the beauty of the old home. I am going to start a facebook page, because my friends are interested in the process also.
