The toilet (hiding behind the door) and sink seem to be in the pantry? I do not like the angle of the island in the kitchen and the carpet definitely has to go.

Would not be a bad house to fix up if it was in a warmer climate. I get the chills just looking at the snow.

My first thought was, these pictures of piles and piles of snow is NOT the way to entice me to buy this house!

I would buy this house and do several things to it. The exterior needs a bottle of vinyl siding be gone. This house has a lot of potential. The woodwork inside is beautiful. The kitchen is a gut job and so are the drop ceilings and paneling and carpets.

Love this house! My wife and I were in Guilford two weeks ago looking at properties. Being from South Georgia we rarely get a dusting of snow. I was driving with my window halfway down and Lori kept turning the heat higher. We may not agree on thermostat controls but we both love old houses❤️

Maine may be cold, but it is beautiful, with lots of bargain-priced old houses!

    Hi Cora,
You are so right! I live in Maine and the winters are long and cold and snowy, and I hibernate all winter, BUT…..Maine has the loveliest summers of anyplace in the country, with gorgeous beaches, and where quiet lakes abound! I wouldn’t live anyplace else on earth. Maine is full of beautiful old houses for a fraction of the cost of anywhere else in the US, and the scenery here is unsurpassed for beauty every season of the year.

    Dear Susan:

I have noticed many beautiful houses posted on OHD in Maine. One of my favorites was a beautiful summer house on a dirt road. I think it said it didn’t have electric. It reminded me of an art colony home from the seventies. I remember then someone from Maine commenting on how many affordable homes are in Maine.
