Francis H. Gibbs (1817-1885) came to Nunda as an apprentice wagonmaker and eventually had his own firm producing wagons, boilers and steam engines. This house was his 3rd in town, built on a large parcel around 1860. Local history says Gibbs moved his factory to Titusville PA but retained his home in Nunda, using his profit to improve the house in his later years.
Around 1900, the Gibbs property became Sunnyside, the home of successful farmer Willis H. Fuller. The Gibbs-Fuller House is worthy of a thorough restoration, and could be a historic landmark in this small town.

Thank you for sharing that info. I always wonder about the people that lived before. This house was crafted with a lot of love. It’s just stunning although I wish there was a wee more acres.

Wow, Titusville, PA is as small and random a town as ever there was. Both sides of my family are from that area and there’s nothing there!

OMG! What a GEM! Those front porch details, alone, was enough to knock my socks off! The house doesn’t look “that” bad, and I would tackle this without a second thought!

The light in picture 12 reminds me for some reason of the lights that originally hung in the original NYC Pennsylvania Station (demo’d in 1960s). On a much smaller scale of course.

Anyway, back on track. Cool House!
