Wow, a substantial house with great wood everywhere. And how poetic to be able to say, “I live on Weathervane Lane.”

Beautiful mansion, huge and opulent! Suprised not to see the grand staircase that I’m sure this would have or a second staircase for servants? Wonder what happened to the center of the tiled floor in one room? I could totally see living here, peacefully.

Certainly is incongruous with the state of the place otherwise, N’t it? Heheheh. More of it in the double parlor as well. One would think that having the money to put in the (surprisingly harmonious and GORGEOUS) kitchen; some new carpets would be something not entirely unattainable. What was going on in there to cause that much wear? I’m picturing the room lined with tables and desks, and someone on an office chair with casters bouncing around between them – FOR YEARS. πŸ˜‰

Wood, mantles, probably original iron cresting, windows, BASEMENT, carriage house, unusually successful expensive kitchen, and SPACE X3; what more could a boy ask for? Top shelf, vintage, boom boom room!!!

It’s actually carpet. The original carpet to be exact πŸ™‚

To Jamesthegood : That is figured carpeting in the panelled room. I suppose there might have been a desk etc. in the middle of the room and constant scuffing of the carpet wore it down to the backing.

Lovely house and the woodwork is still unpainted. Love the staircase and the interior wooden shutters.

OMG I love this house! It’s located on the far western edge of Cincinnati. I, on the other hand, live to the far east of Cincinnati. Harrison is a crossroads location for east-west bound traffic on I-74 close to the state border with Indiana. Good location to travel equidistance east to Cinci and west to Indianapolis. Close to the casinos and Whitewater rafting. Love, Love, Love this house’s interior and hilltop location. With 4 acres!! I am curious about the building close to it. If it’s on 4 acres, is the other building included? Looks like it could have been the school or community building.

Rosewater, thank you for the links. The only things ruining this setting are the factories. I just might take a Sunday drive out there to see it soon. I’ll get the scoop on that other building.

Oh my gosh. This feels like a perfect wedding venue. Marriages in the barn with rehearsal dinner and accommodations in the house. How lovely! Except those poor bathrooms…yikes. The kitchen is so well done – what a contrast.
