The farm of George H. Sourwine (1836-1932), who came to this area at age 9 with nothing, became the largest landowner in town, and died there at age 96. He and Mary Baltz married in 1861, bought the farm a few years later and raised their 4 children here. They moved into the village of LaFargeville in the 1920’s, together over 70 years.

I don’t see a construction date on record – about 1880 I’d guess, although the ell at the rear could be older. Really well-preserved and very pretty!

well, hi LaDona, actually my contractor is walking in the property right now putting for me a schedule when he can starts to fix the boiler and the roof, it was much much better than all the negative comments on the original listing being said, i am happy about that!
you are right , the weather is not convenient for any repair right now! but, convenient to get great deals from the listing agents/ owners due to low activities in real estate, mostly for who’s desperate to sell fast, also in winter not too many contractors are busy, so u can get a deal with them as well… so no pics yet, bank ” the owner” did so much cleaning before they close escrow that saved me at least 15k, so excited! i will keep you posted for sure, thank you LaDona for asking and checking.
