Welcome to 425 Ellershouse Road. The main set for "Cavendish", a TV show premiering on CBC in January. 150+ years old, this 2.5 story house has more character than you could ever imagine. The main floor features a grande living room, family room & dinning room, all of which have their own gorgeous, wood fireplaces. Upstairs features 4 bedroom, 1 of which was in the process of being converted to a large walk-in closet, attached to the master bedroom. It also has approx 500 sq/ft of additional storage in the attic, that could easily be converted to a nice loft. Words cannot describe the beauty of this house so make sure you book your own private showing while it lasts.

If you look at the street view, linked above under the address, you’ll see the front exterior detailing better. Wish there were an old image of this place before the exterior changes.

Also linked above is Realtor.ca which shows a 360 tour and floorplan.

This lovely house is clearly associated with the church next door, built about the same time by the community founder Francis Von Ellerhausen. His house was on OHD in 2013!

Thanks! I guess the front faces away from the road? Makes it easier to understand what it looked like now.

It faces the gravel road, Maple Ave. The tall section is centered with porches and chimneys on each side. Impressive facade! Strange that all the photos show the back of the house with the addition and stovepipe.

Also wish there were shots of the attic, with the dormers and round windows in the gables. I imagine some secret society meeting up there on the full moon.

Hi ? My husband and I just bought 425 Ellershouse. We will be restoring this beautiful home to it’s former glory. We will post before and after pictures of every room. I am still hunting down info and pictures from its past. If anyone else has pictures of the exterior or interior please send us them.

What a great price for such a roomy lovely place! Perhaps the road was moved, I drive past a location this situation is undergoing. A lovely home perched on a hill above the state highway, will now have a four lane highway behind it. Fortunately I think with proper trees and fencing it will actually help the old place out.
