Thought I’d post this home in Columbus too. I don’t know if it was a straight flip or someone lived here for a short while, it’s been on the site before: https://www.oldhousedreams.com/2015/03/13/c-1890-columbus-ms-2/

Personally I love the new kitchen and baths. Glad they kept the 4/4 windows!

I’ve never seen corrugated metal used on a residential ceiling before. I kind of like it, especially if it doesn’t rust.

So why say anything at all if you don’t like it? I’m not trying to be rude, I’ve always wanted to ask someone that doesn’t like a home why do they take their time leaving a comment to let us strangers know they don’t like it? Again, not trying to be rude or argumentative, I’m seriously curious.

A house like this can trigger strong emotions. A person simply has the need to talk about it. But the rules of Kelly and OHD prevent you from saying what you really want to say (and rightly so, I will add). So some persons will put something brief or trite just to feel like they have vented and gotten that house off their chest. (Just my armchair psychology opinion.)

Nicely done, good balance between original features and the new modern farmhouse style remodel. I like the modern farmhouse look when it has a minimalist feel and it’s not cluttered.

I simply love this, so neat and looks clean as a pin. All you have to do is find some great furniture and move in!

My comment has to do with the exterior. It needs (IMHO) a well thought out three/four color historically accurate paint scheme. The all white doesn’t do justice to the architectural details.

No! Love it all white with the pale blue porch ceiling.

I think they were going for a clean slate to allow the owner to do what they want. I like it because it has this very clean, classic wedding cake look. Plus in Mississippi, it’s muggy ALL the time, so keep it light and airy. I would live with it for a year and THEN consider trimming just the window casings in the grey from the front door.

Imagine if they did a “cream tone” color scale on the outside. It WOULD be a wedding cake house! 🙂

Cute as a button and squeaky clean. I love it. Especially the white exterior.

I Love this. The description of the extensive work put into it…Whew. I love the split at the top of the staircase.

What a great job! The “No surface left untouched” sounded very scary, but comparing new to old pictures it looks like they kept all the good parts and fixed all the bad. Nicely done. And so clean!

this is incredible! I love the monochromatic New England vibe! I would change the kitchen backsplash and the trough sink in the powder room… everything else is perfect! I love it!
