wow this one is gorgeous!! I salute the previous owners for not painting that gorgeous woodwork downstairs. This place exudes that mansion feel.

Great home, built when Detroit was king. The price is higher than similar homes in Detroit were listed for a few years ago, which might mean that things have improved there somewhat. The sort of “rathskeller” in the attic, as opposed to the basement, was a surprise.

What an absolutely beautiful home. Just needs a few cosmetic improvements. This home has been well loved & cared for. Do hope the lucky buyers create new memories in a gorgeous gem of a home.

Magnificent! Oh that light fixture in the room with the dark fireplace and the gorgeous built-in curved window seat…you know the one. Woo! All that wood, good gracious!

Love this one! I would love to see a floor plan to better understand where and what the smaller rooms are and see the kitchen footprint.

This home was built for Louis Arthur Peters (1871-1932), his wife Clara Adeline Fisher, and their daughter Helene. Peters was the only child of a German immigrant who owned a successful tobacco importing business. The younger Peters retired at this house at the age of 45, content to make investments, travel widely and attend functions at the many clubs and organizations he belonged to. He was best known as the Grand Commander of the local Knights Templar.

The biography fits the house, grand and built for leisure and entertaining. I can see Grand Poobah Peters with all his cronies having (illegal) drinks and smoking big cigars in the upper level saloon.
