I included the street view to show a better exterior. This could be an amazing gem. This is not 1911 although I’m having trouble seeing the home due to the poor photos to better date it, pre 1900 for sure.

I’m thinking late 1880’s? Maybe 1886 or 1888? Just my guess. That’s my favorite decade for houses 🙂

Just had a small price reduction. I’m amazed this is still on the market. Moved to front page because an OHD’er needs to buy this one! 🙂

I live <2 hrs away and went to see it hoping to purchase and move it. It is in bad shape; porch is falling off; foundation very concerning. I was really surprised how it looked in person. Waiting to see if it goes up for auction or a price drop.

    Dropped to $34,900.

I considered doing a road trip this weekend to see what the real deal was but 6 hours is not doable. This is the only home I’ve ever posted that made me scratch my head and wonder why.

I live in Nashville and went to see it. It’s in bad shape. Was definitely overpriced at $50k

Tracey, can you elaborate a little on “bad shape”? You mentioned porch and possible foundation issues last year. I see that the floors are a little ragged, but I could live with that as long as the joists haven’t given way. What little I can see of the kitchen looks like perhaps newer flooring and a few minor other things redone. What, specifically, put you off it? Lots of water damage? Mold or Mildew? Lots of broken windows giving access to the house to the elements and wild things?
I’m asking because I just realized how close I would be to some of my cousins up there. Thanks in advance.

Generally, it was the floors sloping so badly that you knew the foundation had failed. It is NOTHING like the pictures, just be prepared. Much worse in person. Not sure about roof or windows. It’s been many months ago. But it was severe sloping where you would have to jack the house up and repair foundation (as opposed to those with a mild slope that old houses will have regardless). The layout was strange but that can be changed. It was just shocking how different it looked from the pictures and I was really disappointed. The exterior pictures are very outdated, before the house fell into disrepair. But it would be a stunner. Tiny cute town 2 hours west of Nashville. Could always fly into Nashville or Memphis and then drive over to see it! This price is much more reasonable; very overpriced before (unless you know how to do all the work yourself).
