It’s too bad you can’t see the house for the forest. I love it though! I wonder why they vented the dryer through the transom instead of the wall. That’s kind of odd but all in all, I think it’s a beautiful home. 🙂

Some of the usual 1930’s good style visible. This would be an especially happy rehab result — I’d love to save the fabulous kitchen/pantry cabinets! Much appeal in this house.

this is my kind of house, sans the later low-slung carport. Great millwork. Some less appropriate updates (e.g. the “candle” chandelier) could easily be rolled back. I would love to liberate that front elevation from the overgrown landscaping.

is that a swimming pool out back? weird, no mention of it…

This is a wonderful house. It obviously belonged to someone with a great sense of style and an eye for detail. Lovely in its heyday and filled with clever personal touches in both detail and color. Love it! Even the Holly Hunt “candle” fixture

$99.9 in Montgomery, AL. I want to know what kind of neighborhood it is in. Even with all the work it needs, a house the nice should be listed for more.

This one is right on the edge of the good neighborhood in old Montgomery. Go 2 blocks it becomes an adventure. I’m getting ready to retire to that part of town from NOVA and this house is on my list of houses to see. As someone said before the millwork is outstanding. The biggest question with this house is what do the houses next door and behind it look like

  7. This house looks like that it is on the Cloverdale section on Montgomery which was a neighborhood designed by the architect Frank Lockwood. The details in the house are very similar to other houses designed by him or his son. This being a later house, it may have been designed by his son Frank Lockwood Jr. It appears to have only 10 ft ceilings which compares to a later design date.
