Very nice millwork in this one. Not sure about that enclosed front porch. Although nice space, it kind of distracts from the appearance, but anyway, very nice home.

I love this. It embodies my ideal of a simple old-fashioned midwestern home. I like the enclosed porch; very practical and also well done and attractive, I think.

Great house at an outstanding price. The front porch enclosure might have been early as it’s three over one windows match the others throughout.

I keep looking at this home trying to figure out why the low sale price. Seems to be a low crime area according to the map. The property taxes are not high & from the photos the home looks to need only some cosmetic work. I guess there may be something else or something I am not seeing, but $45,000 is really low.

Being an Iowan born and raised, I’d say it’s mostly a case of overall lower home prices all over the more rural areas of Iowa. Sac City is pretty small (just a little over 2000 people – and declining according to the last few censuses) and there isn’t much else any bigger relatively nearby. The median home value in Sac City is only around $70K, median incomes are low, and this house does look like it could use just a tiny bit of TLC. The price doesn’t seem all that surprising to me at all, having grown up in a very similar town in Iowa. The owners might have gone a bit low, but then, maybe they just want to offload the house quickly, also not uncommon in these rural areas in recent years.

But hey – Sac City is home to the world’s largest popcorn ball! šŸ™‚

Oh those built-ins! Iā€™m in love! And the price, unbelievable. I think I might have to rethink snow!

I can’t believe there aren’t a couple of fireplaces. What a Craftsman with out a fireplace?

I’m curious about the price also. The company is also an auction company, could this be a beginning price? I don’t see an auction date.
