Step back in time & visualize Mr. Capell (1st owner) & his forethought into building such a lavish home. It is said in the Roanoke News May 4, 1878 that he was building large bay windows for the convenience of his child. Current owner has lived in this home for over 60 years & is believed to be the 3rd owner. The architectural designs are amazing. Enter the grand foyer through a large exterior door with the original leaded glass on each side & you are taken back by the winding stairway (made of walnut) leading to the 2nd floor. Living room boast an Italian marble fireplace & dining room is tiger oak with a cast iron fireplace. Home features walnut, heart pine floors, tiger oak, solid pine beams, Italian marble, original claw foot tub, original doors & knobs, & even some of the original wall paper remains.Home has been updated.
