LISTING #21240 This historic, hand cut stone school building (circa 1927), is sitting on 3 1/2 acres in the small country town of Troy ,WV. Structures like this are a rare find in today's real estate market. The hand cut stone has tremendous value itself. This school was last used 3 years ago in the Spring of 2015. With a little elbow grease and some TLC, it could be easily used again as a school, office complex, training center, possible apartments, etc. There are no restrictions or zoning on this property. The school has 3 floors with at least 12 classrooms which includes a library and a computer lab area. Most of the classrooms have a counter top with sink and closets / storage. Additionally, there is an office area, a lounge and bathrooms for both girls and boys. There are also large hallway areas, lobbies and janitorial closets. There is a fire alarm system, water fountains on each floor and a speaker system. Other buildings include a gymnasium in need of some repair and TLC, with wooden bleachers on one side. The gym reminds me of the movie "Hoosiers." You can almost see and hear the excitement of hundreds of games over the years that were played here. There are a couple dressing rooms and other small rooms, but overall it is in pretty good shape. There is a cafeteria and kitchen which sits behind the gym. The area behind the school and gym is where the ballfield and playground are located. It is a large, level area that could serve many purposes. The school is on city water and has an a permitted septic system. Places like this are a rare find and this one is priced right at $74,000.00.

They are doing beautiful things with turning our old schools in the Kansas City area into condo or senior housing. Much better than letting them sit there and rot and keeps the neighborhoods more vital. I really can’t image what one could do with a building such as this, and I really think it’s a great way to utilize the space.

split the hairs here or thar, the results would be the same in some senses

an old school in the city nearly 10-15 miles to the east of whar I currently live, they turned it into a condo about decade ago

while they still use the outdoor stadium for assumed both middle/high school football games on given occasions and they even added mini playground/dog park

I still say they should’ve demolished the school and put up a nice multi level parking garage for the tourist/other city employees, while keeping the intact football field so they could play
